Behind the commission
This year (2026), I had the chance to see one of my favorite artists, Jordan Ward, in concert at the beginning of March. He was on his “Apartment Tour”.
On Februrary 28th, I saw him in Santa Ana, and when I got home at 11pm, I immediately had the urge to make him a gift! I stayed up all night making his GANGO rug in just a few hours and enjoyed every minute!
On March 2nd, I went to his concert in Phoenix and I got to personally hand him the rug. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone around me was very encouraging and I’m grateful. He took it on the rest of the tour, and even shouted out Pudgy Tuft.
Shoreigh, the creator of Pleading Insanity, has always spoken so much life upon me and planted many seeds of creativity in my mind.
When I finally found tufting, I felt so much relief because, it found me too. Shoreigh’s belief in me has always come from a place of gratitude and community. I’ve wanted to make her a rug as a thank you for her support!
